When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials. When you use our service, we collect usage data including search queries, document counts, and API call volumes for billing and analytics purposes.

We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve our services, process billing, send service-related communications, and ensure security of your account and data.

3. Data Storage

Your documents and search indexes are stored in AWS infrastructure in the EU (eu-central-1). We do not access your document content except as necessary to provide the indexing and search service. All data is encrypted at rest and in transit.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• AWS for cloud infrastructure and authentication (Cognito)
• Lemon Squeezy for payment processing
• Google & GitHub for optional OAuth sign-in

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we will delete your documents, indexes, and personal data within 30 days. Billing records may be retained longer as required by law.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You can export your documents at any time through the API. To exercise these rights or for any privacy-related questions, contact us at privacy@lumosearch.com.

7. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or through the dashboard.
